For years, Hermes has been refining the design of its iconic Birkin bag. The classic Kelly is constructed in both Retourne and Sellier styles, and now, the Birkin is also available in the out-stitched Sellier construction, counterbalancing the original design. The first example of this new construction debuted in 2014 with the 40cm Vache Hunter Sellier Birkin, featuring an unlined interior and distinct stitching around the hardware. Five years later, Hermes' master craftsmen perfected the design, releasing limited examples of both 25cm and 30cm Sellier Birkins. This store-fresh 30cm piece is one of those rare examples. Unlike the original version, today's Sellier Birkins feature fully lined interiors with all the classic pockets.
This particular 30cm bag stands out not only for its modern design but also for its stunning color and material. Crafted from Gold Madame leather, this new leather has a subtle, ladylike pressed texture, more delicate than the classic Epsom leather. The combination of Gold Madame leather and Palladium hardware makes for a sophisticated and timeless piece.
